Just like everyday, this morning I woke up and fire up my browser to read what hot news for today. Under tech category a found some news about Google Universal Search. I’m wondering what’s that ? After reading the article then I know that Google is launching new User Interface for its search engine. I open Google Reader and found some new post about that from Google Official Blog. Actually it is just a few hour since I go sleep, woke up, and everything already different. Here is quote from Google Official Blog.
With universal search, we’re attempting to break down the walls that traditionally separated our various search properties and integrate the vast amounts of information available into one simple set of search results.
Exited to know what’s really the different I open google website and start searching some random word. Here is some screen shot what I got from the search.
If you enter any keyword related to programming language you got the “code” tab. If there are matching book for your keyword you will also see books tab.
Finding place can be very fun with this new Universal Search. You got the image for the place you are looking for and the maps. Currently only big city and more to United State that have map. I try to search my place got no maps.
Here I try looking for my favorite celebrity Elisha Cuthbert. You got image so you know you are on the right direction.
Google also recognize movie title. Here I try looking for “Redline Movie” and google give me link to the trailer and the movie’s official website. As you can see from screen shot above google also being helpful to add “redline magazine” phrase if I am looking for it.
Here I search for my city. Only images, no maps. Google also announce their new Experimental Search, I will cover the feature of Experimental Search in the next post. Come back later.
