As you might already know Stage6 by DivX is new rival to video sharing sites such as YouTube, Metacafe and DailyMotion, but what make it different is it’s provide high quality video for playback.
In other word is Stage6 allowed you to upload video in any size and they will display it as it is without compressing or resizing them. The only thing you need to do is install their ActiveX web player to watch or download from their site.
What I am gonna show you is dirty trick how to download their high quality video without installing their ActiveX. Here we go…
- Head up to the video listing section or search for what videos you want.
- Now hover your mouse to over any video of interest and watch the URL at you status bar.

- The highlighted part in above picture is the video id, and that is what you need to download high quality videos from stage6.
- Now we have to reformat the URL and ready to download.
- Right click on the video and copy the link URL
- Now paste the URL “http://stage6.divx.com/Diva-Channel/video/1620273/[PV]-The-Cardigans—Lovefool-(US-Version)” in the address bar of your browser.
- Add “video.” in front of stage6, delete “divx.”, “Diva-Channel/video/” and all the rest after video id
- The outcome URL will be like http://video.stage6.com/1620273
- Enter, and you will be start downloading.
Easy right..? Good luck for your downloading..
Remarks:
- The downfall is you have to rename the video name instead of the video id eg: 1620235.divx
- Don’t forget to put the extension .divx to end of the files you download.
- When you right click to copy the URL choose copy shortcut for Internet Explorer.
- Choose copy link location if you use Firefox
- Copy link address if you use Opera browser.

Maybe you should save downloaded video to somewhere easier to find eg: desktop or my documents folder. Windows normally will hidden temporary internet folder by default, check your folder setting.
You are the brick! Reading stuff like this written in the way like this is a great pleasure for me.
